Vanilla and Co: A Short Review

Bath and body products don’t occupy a high spot in my shopping list, but I had some extra Gcash to burn and was in need of new body wash. I gave Vanilla and Co’s bath products a try because they’re cheap, they’re organic (supposedly – I don’t see their ingredients in the website or the bottle), and they come in delicious dessert scents. The store’s service could be a bit better – I actually had to text and inquire the following day because nobody followed up on my order. But the owner was very accommodating and she had my package handled, shipped, and sitting on my doorstep in three days. This is what I got!
Buttercream Caramel Body Wash

I had such a tough time picking a body wash scent, especially since I couldn’t use my nose to help me decide. In the end, I figured buttercream caramel would be the safest bet because there’s no way anyone can screw up a caramel scent. I’m not too crazy about the radioactive orange color but I paid it no mind as I caught a whiff of the soap when I ripped my package open (some of the product leaked out in transit – it was a rather pleasant way to receive bath products in the mail, plus the bottle was wrapped in plastic to prevent a mess). In the shower, I try my hardest not to pour the body wash down my throat; the creamy caramel scent is that delicious. It’s a shame the scent has absolutely no staying power. Perhaps I should get this in body butter form.
Vanilla Paradise Whipped Buttercream Body Butter

Much as I enjoy the fruity scents of The Body Shop’s Body Butter, I find the product too heavy and greasy on my skin, especially during the summer. Vanilla and Co’s body butter is nothing like that – it has the consistency, feel, and moisturizing power of regular lotion. Vanilla Paradise is one of their best-selling scents, and it smells like vanilla cookies rather than cloying vanilla flowers. It’s a very soothing aroma that stays on my palms hours after I use it. I’m not a lotion person by any means, but I find myself applying this twice a day – once after my shower, and once before I go to bed. It’s that delicious!
Mint Chocolate Whipped Buttercream Scrub

Nothing is more invigorating than a minty body scrub, and the mint chocolate scrub did not disappoint. The scent isn’t as strong as I had hoped it would be, but if I bring my nose close enough it smells just like a creamy scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream. On my skin, this scrub feels divine – the mint kicks in shortly after application, and its cool sensation stays minutes after I rinse off the product. My only complaint is that I think it could use a few more scrubbing beads. Other than that, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another tub of this mint chocolate scrub.
You can check out Vanilla and Co’s entire line of mouthwatering bath and body products at vanillacompany.multiply.com. Have you ever bought anything from Vanilla and Co? What’s your favorite scent?

Haven’t tried anything from them yet, but I am sure loving the vintage pin-up label :)

I used to buy from Milk and Moisture over at multiply for food-flavored body products, but after a while I got tired of it. Maybe I’ll try Vanilla and Co instead. The Mint Chocolate Whipped Buttercream Scrub looks int interestin!

I love their whipped buttercreams and other body lotions but I wasn’t so crazy about the witch hazel facial cream. While it didn’t irritate my skin in any way, I don’t really feel like it did anything for me. But their moisturizers… ohhhh they’re hella mouthwatering, I could gobble ‘em up during a famine. Well, okay. I’m exaggerating, but I’m sure you get the point.

For me, the scent lasts about 30 minutes, but you can detect a faint aroma if you sniff your skin up close. As for the moisturizing power, it lasts around half a day, which is not bad. :)
