This entry was written for the benefit of my boyfriend – or anyone else who doesn’t know what to get me for Christmas, if they’d like to get me anything for Christmas (hi mom). My boyfriend probably doesn’t need this list because he accompanies me when I go shopping and listens to me prattle on about the stuff I want. He did also mention that boys are kind of clueless about what to get for their girlfriends, and that girls need to be clear about what they want. What I want doesn’t get any clearer than this list!
I’m actually surprised that my newfound materialism doesn’t make me any less of a cheap date. My beauty wish list is short, simple, and relatively inexpensive (ok, it helps that I went on a mini makeup shopping spree online just recently). When you come to think about it, it makes more sense to spend on clothes than on makeup, which expires in less than a year and has a very low resale value. I’m pretty satisfied with two or three eyeshadow palettes (I could use one more, see below!), foundation/concealer (which I already have), blush (very much needed, see below), and beauty care products (which I also already have). Really, I’m only one person and I can’t possibly consume that much makeup – especially since I work at home and have no need to wear it on a daily basis.
Anyway, here goes my Christmas wishlist, along with the price and where you can find them. :P
Art Deco Eyeshadow Base
My oily lids could certainly use the help of the Art Deco Eyeshadow Base, one of the most highly-recommended eyeshadow primers and Art Deco’s best-selling product. This also means that it’s near impossible to find. I’ve been to the Art Deco booths at SM Makati twice and it wasn’t in stock. The salesladies had no idea when the new shipments would come in next, either. For now I make do with using concealer as an eyeshadow primer, but I really want to get my hands on this product and see what all the fuss is about. P500 at SM Department Store, if you can find it!
Update: According to my boyfriend, who called me from SM Makati just now, Art Deco is pulling out of the Philippines. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :( :( :(
Nars Blush in Orgasm
I tried this at the Nars counter in Rustan’s and fell in love with how amazing this blush looked on me. Nars Blush in Orgasm is a cult favorite among makeup junkies because of the way it flatters all skin tones, and now I want my own! But I want it to come from my boyfriend, because it would be inappropriate for me to receive an Orgasm from anyone else. P1,350 at Rustan’s Shang or Makati.
Tsumori Chisato Palette for Shu Uemura (Limited Edition)
It’s a pretty tiny palette for $65 but it’s by Tsumori Chisato and there’s a kitty on the cover. I rest my case. Do we have Shu Uemura in the Philippines?
Stila Bold Beauty Palette
I blame Liz for getting me curious about this palette. At first she was all like, “Stila’s eyeshadows are just okay.” Then she showed me Temptalia’s swatches and I was very impressed by how pigmented and colorful they were. Twelve shadows for Just P1,195 – not bad! Available here.
The Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual
Not a beauty product per se, but I’ve heard a lot of great reviews about this book. Being a total newbie to makeup and all, I think I could really use a comprehensive guide on applying makeup, and the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual looks like it. Unless anyone can recommend a better book? P1,000+ at Fully Booked.
Red Earth All-In-One Concealer Kit
I actually stole my mom’s Red Earth All-In-One Concealer Kit when I noticed that she wasn’t using it anymore. It’s about to run out and I want my own. No idea how much it costs or where she got it. Beauty Bar, maybe?
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Complete UV Waterlight Lotion (SPF 50)
It’s a moisturizer AND sunscreen all in one! I can easily get this myself, but it’d be cool if you could save me the trouble. :D P460 at Watson’s or wherever Neutrogena is available.

That Red Earth concealer kit is from Beauty Bar. They also have something like that from Make Up For Ever. I suggest you get the latter brand instead, because the palette’s bigger. :)
Ooh, I’ll probably check out the MUFE one. I was told that Beauty Bar no longer carries the Red Earth concealer. :(

i’ve been wanting the bobbi brown make up manual and the last time i checked, it is cheaper at the national bookstore than at power books at the sm megamall, both not in stock though…
and, looking at the bright side, if artdeco would be pulling out of the Phils, i’m sure they’re going to have a sale…that is, if you fancy other items from them…
