Week 9: Classy Corals

I used to think that I look terrible with coral lips until I tried Revlon Creme Gloss in Crush on Coral. Although I’ll wear lipstick over lip gloss any day, I discovered that gloss can tone down lip colors that normally look garish on you. For me, that color is coral.

The subtle shimmer of this gloss reminded me of luminescent pearls, so I came up with a subdued, nearly-neutral look that I imagine would fit perfectly at a wedding or other semi-formal occasions. Gold eyeshadow alone looks great with coral lips, but I added purple to give this dreary afternoon a pop of color.

Eyes:
Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows - Underland (purple), Oraculum (gold), and Mad Hatter (dark brown)
Tony Moly gel liner in brown
In2it retractable eyeliner in brown
Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara

Face:
L’Oreal True Match concealer (I’ve been breaking out like mad recently)
Ellana Mineral Foundation in Cinnamon Latte
Revlon Matte Blush in Blushing Berry
Mineraux bronzer in Beach Tan

Lips:
Revlon Creme Gloss in Crush on Coral

By the way, if there are certain makeup looks, lipstick colors, or eyeshadow colors you’d like to see on my Project 52, let me know! Coming up with new looks on my own can be rather challenging and I’d appreciate whatever inspiration you can throw my way. :)

How about something inspired by Alice in Wonderland? I just got the idea from your UD Palette.

So glad you featured a coral lipstick. I am hunting for one myself. Know any other nice coral shades? :)

Thanks for the feature in the article, Lauren! Do e-mail Arianne for a reservation of a hat that you like.

Ooh, will do! What’s her e-mail address? I can’t access the store website. :( Revlon has a lipstick called Kiss Me Coral that’s pretty close to this shade. I haven’t tried it on myself but look for it the next time you see a Revlon counter. :)
