I don’t normally do my Project 52 look this early in the week, but I’m going to undergo a skin treatment called Sciton Refractional in a couple of days. You can bet that the treatment is just as scary and high-tech as the name suggests; this procedure involves the use of lasers to get rid of my awful acne scars. Yes, it will hurt, and yes, I will look disfigured for some time. So while my skin heals, I’m staying far away from cameras. This also means that unless I find a reason to go out before my derma appointment, I won’t be posting any outfit photos until next week. It’s a good thing I have some makeup and beauty products up for review! Time to catch up on the long-neglected beauty portion of this blog.

Makeup challenges make it so much easier for me to figure out what looks to do for my Project 52. Christine of Temptalia just posted this month’s Feline Makeup Challenge, where readers can submit whatever kitty-inspired look they can come up with. It didn’t take me too long to get inspired by the piercing blue eyes of my obese Siamese cat, who has been my flea-ridden companion for the last 12 years.

I’m not so sure I want to submit this look to Temptalia though. For one thing, I have a feeling I’ll look very amateurish next to the pros and long-time enthusiasts who’ll be sending in their looks. I had a lot of fun coming up with this look anyway, especially because I’ve never done my eyes this way before. I also like how the makeup doesn’t make me look anything like me at all.

Eyes:
Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland palette (Alice and Mad Hatter)
Tony Moly Gel Liner in Brown
In2it Retractable Liner in Brown
Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara

Face:
MAC Studio Fix Foundation in NC42
Ellana Mineral Foundation in Cinnamon Latte

Lips:
Nyx Round Lipstick in Honey
Nyx Round Lipstick in Taupe
The other reason why I’m hesitant to submit this look is because I couldn’t really decide on a color for my lips, and it shows. I wanted something nude or brown, but my go-to nude for heavy eye makeup (Ginger Rose) is too pink. Honey was too close to my skin tone and Taupe just didn’t look right with the blue of my eyes. Combining both seemed to work, but I’m still not quite satisfied. I would have preferred a really dark, near-black brown lipstick with these eyes.

Lauren, you look like you lost a lot of weight here! :o I love the colors, and I especially love the phat cat, I always want to make my cats PHAAT. :D
Haha thanks! Maybe my diet is working? I was pretty surprised when I saw my photos. It looks like I contoured my cheeks but I swear I didn’t. o_o
great make up lauren.
hope all goes well w/ your treatment, Lauren! it does sound very daunting, but i’m sure you’ll be fine. :)
i think the makeup looks great! very catlike indeed. love that you chose a bright color for the eyeshadow!
what diet is it? you did shed off some pounds!
It’s a diet of my own invention! Basically – no fast food (pizza and fried chicken included), no pasta, no fried food (kinda hard to avoid at home tho), no desserts (cakes, ice cream, etc. but I cheat and eat chocolate every now and then), no beer, no softdrinks and other sugary drinks like iced tea (which is not hard cos I don’t drink them often). I eat three small meals a day, and unless I’m exercising at night, I don’t eat carbs for dinner.
Wow, did you lose weight? you look like you lost a lot of weight
You really don’t look like yourself (in a very interesting way)! How cool. As a fellow siamese owner, I am digging the inspiration!
