Weekend Outfit Round-up

It was a shorts-and-top kind of weekend, aka it was an I-was-too-busy-to-think-about-what-to-wear kind of weekend. My weekends are usually pretty laid-back, but this one was unusually crazy – a gig on Friday night, an event on Saturday morning and two parties to go to Saturday evening, and a big shoot on Sunday for styling class. I ended up saying no to the Friday night gig and second party so I could be rested up for Sunday, but it was fairly hectic nonetheless. Which is not to say that I didn’t have fun; I spent my days doing the things I love while spending time with friends, not to mention that I have tons of things to write about in the coming days. But before I talk about what I did, let me post some snaps of what I wore! Even though last weekend’s sartorial choices were fairly simple, they revolved around two awesome items I bought this week, and I was too excited to not wear them right away.

Top: Multiply (I forget which store)
Shorts: Promod (I lived in these all weekend)
Heels: Old Navy
Fuchsia lipstick: ???

I mentioned before that I was deathly afraid to wear fuchsia lipstick, but it was only because I haven’t found the perfect shade of pink for my skin tone. I discovered THE fuchsia lipstick quite by accident and it’s currently one of my favorites. Besides that stunning shade of hot pink, it’s also long-lasting and moisturizing. I won’t tell you where it’s from just yet because I want to devote an entire post to it. Here’s a hint: it’s from a severely underrated brand’s severely underrated lipstick line. I wore my scandalously pink lip color with a pin-up girl-inspired outfit, and happily skipped off to a Saturday morning with my favorite beauty/fashion bloggers.

Me and Liz, of course!

At the event, Levi’s showed us their latest product for women, which I will talk about in a couple of days. I will say that they engineered a technique that will help women find the perfect-fitting jeans.

Shortly after the event, I dropped by Power Plant to pick up a pair of boots from Soule Phenomenon – the Inkarlcerating boots I’ve had my eye on for weeks. I wasn’t planning to get this til the end of the month, but I needed boots just like these for my shoot on Sunday. Perhaps I should become a professional stylist after all; I can buy expensive shoes and not feel too bad about it afterwards. The boots are incredibly stunning in person and stand an amazing 4.5 inches tall; if I could marry a pair of boots, I’d easily marry this one. I do, however, have a minor complaint – the soles are too smooth and slippery for my tastes. I have poor sense of balance and I don’t think I can walk with these on tiled mall floors without breaking my neck, so the plan is to get the soles changed at a Mr. Quickie. I hope they don’t wreck my boots in the process because I’ll be beyond pissed off if that happens. Believe it or not, I have never spent this much money on shoes before. I’m thrifty, okay.

T-shirt: Bangkok
Shorts: Promod
Boots: Soule Phenomenon
Red purse: Bangkok

I was way too excited about the boots to wait til the sole change, so I wore it to a party that night. It’s a good thing it was mostly a sitting-down-and-eating-Anne’s-cooking kind of party, because the boots are a little uncomfortable to walk in. Or maybe I’m just not used to being 4.5 inches taller.

There are no photos of what I wore on Sunday because I spent a good chunk of the afternoon looking like a drowned rat, plus I didn’t have time to put on a speck of makeup. The shoot went very well though, but like all the other things I mentioned here in passing, this is a story best told at another time.

So how was your weekend? :)

PS. I thought I’d mention that I figured out how to upload photos to Chictopia last week. Let’s be friends! I’m trying to document the evolution of my personal style by taking a photo every time I go out (if I can), and Chictopia seems like the best place to dump all those photos in. I’ll still be posting outfit photos here but I’ll probably do weekly outfit round-up posts rather than individual entries, just to balance out my content.

I like your floral top for the Levi’s event! Too bad you can’t remember the multiply store. I’d check out their products sana, hehe

Anyway, I sent you an email at your gmail account earlier today about the items I got from ukaymanila. I sent an OF the other day and sent another OF today = separate shipping fees. I was hoping to have a combined shipping instead of two to save some money. :D

Thanks, too, for the POC feature! It (surprisingly) impressed my producer, who apparently reads POC. Haha.
