Outfit: Creeping Up Slowly

I’m still well into my flatforms phase, especially now that my creepers from Asian Vogue have finally arrived! Of all the designs available, this one is probably my favorite because it doesn’t look as chunky and punky as the lace-up ones, and it comes in a shade of blue that really pops. The soles aren’t as soft and bouncy as the pair I got from Rome Designs, but I can walk in them fine and stand in them forever. If you want the added height without suffering the pain of heels, I seriously recommend getting a flat platform shoe.

I’ve mentioned that I’m not a bag person at all, but I couldn’t resist getting this bag even though it was kinda pricey. I guess I’m a bit of an extremist when it comes to bag design – they must be very cute (like my owl bag), or very minimalist. The thing I hate about mall bags is that they’re somewhere in between because designers/retailers tend to go crazy with ruffles or studs. Bags, when they aren’t cute, are much prettier when you place the emphasis on their silhouette, and they end up looking tacky when you cover it with all sorts of superfluous details. That’s why I’m crazy about my new doctor bag – it’s incredibly simple, but it works, and using it makes me feel rather chic.

I ended up wearing this outfit to the Clinique party! I’ll do a quick blog post when I get better photos from Estee Lauder, but suffice to say that I had a wonderful time with my favorite bloggers and their guests.
