A Family Dinner

I know I mentioned that I was growing bored with floral dresses but I have to admit, they sure come in handy for family dinners and other occasions where I have to dress conventionally. A few days ago, my boyfriend’s lola‘s turned 91 and she requested that all her grandchildren’s significant others be present at her dinner party. I wanted to wear something with knee-high socks and sandals, but changed to a safe floral dress and heels at the last minute; I felt that what I originally wanted to wear might have been too experimental for a family dinner. The blazer was another last-minute addition, in case my dress was a little too casual for the semi-formal dress code.

Blazer: J. Crew
Dress: Forever 21
Heels: Renegade Folk
Accessories: vintage (my sister’s)

Turns out the outfit change was a good call – it was way too humid for anything more than a strapless dress that evening. Sigh, when is it going to start getting cooler? I’m dying to wear my new blazer from eBay!

i guess it was a bright idea to change the last minute! usually on family dinners (especially that of your boyfriend’s), it’s better off being on a safer outfit. I love your total look!

Haha I’ve been wearing floral prints ever since I got interested in fashion and ignored neutrals up until now. I think it’s great to have a healthy mix of both in one’s wardrobe! I’ve added your site to my blogroll too. :D
