Would You Wear a Wedding Dress From Topshop?

Let me start out by saying that I am not getting married anytime soon. But I’m already at that age where talk of marriage – or specifically, weddings – is unavoidable, with friends getting hitched and relatives/mothers asking me when it will be my turn (to which I respond with, “I dunno, ask my boyfriend?”). A recent visit to a bridal fair with a friend had me rather overwhelmed by the ridiculous detail that goes into planning a wedding, and I decided right there that I don’t want any of that for myself. If I were to get married, my dream wedding will be so simple and stress-free that you can hardly call it a wedding at all. The same thing goes for my dream wedding dress – the plan is to walk right into a store like Milanoo and pick out The Dress right off the rack. I’ll let the bridal party worry about what they’re going to wear.

Strip Ministry of Waxing’s Brazilian Gingerbread Wax

December’s busy social calendar often contains a party or two in your pants. Let’s be adults about it for a second – many forms of holiday cuddling and snuggling don’t always have very wholesome conclusions. Why do you think so many people are born in September?

I don’t know about you, but it’s hard to get into the mood when your man is forced to travel through a forest in order to reach his destination. So if you’re looking to trim the hedges before the real party starts, might I suggest that you do it with a Brazilian bikini wax at Strip Ministry of Waxing. They created a yummy gingerbread-scented wax so you can continue feeling the holiday spirit while the hair is being ripped from your nether regions.

Buy My Clothes at Bloggers United – Free Passes Inside!

I’ve been a crappy blogger as of late, so it’s really awesome that Paxie, Ana, and Melai continue to invite me to be part of Bloggers United despite the serious lack of updates. But nonetheless, I’m going to be there on December 16 (Sunday) – or at least, my boyfriend Marco and my friend Rica will be there on my behalf. I booked a trip to Macau and Hongkong with my sister for that week, not realizing that the travel dates coincided with the event. :\ But my closet is there for you to raid, and there are tons of other bloggers there who might have some interesting finds for you.

Bloggers United 4 is on December 15 and 16 at the World Trade Center. I’m giving away 10 free passes – read on to find out how to get them!

Sometimes, Acne Really Is Genetic

I was the first girl to get pimples in my fifth grade class. Unsightly little bumps started to form on my forehead about the same time I got glasses, making adolescence even more awkward than it should have been. As I grew older, the tiny bumps morphed into angry, pus-filled pimples that left icepick scars even though I dared not pop them. It was fairly common for people to tell me that I would have been prettier if I had clearer skin.

Hello, Adulthood: Some Vanity-Related Life Updates

Two important vanity-related things have happened to me since my last blog post:

One: I finally cut my hair short

Everyone is chopping off their locks left and right these days, so my joining the bandwagon isn’t so surprising in the greater scheme of things. But going under the scissors a VERY big deal for me, having lived my entire life thinking that I look terrible with short hair. Before graduating from college, I experimented with a variety of short haircuts, the the disastrous results of which had me convinced that I should live the rest of my days with hair well past my shoulders. Observe:

Spotted: The Inevitable Signs of Aging

I never thought the day would come where I’d make a mad scramble for all the anti-aging products I could find in the house. But here I am in a bit of a panic after discovering that I might be well on my way to becoming a withered hag. While looking through some recent photos, I noticed something a little…off about my face. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was, but a closer look revealed the horrifying truth:

Guess How Much My Emilio Pucci Sneakers Cost?

A few years ago, a girl named Christine invited my mom and I to a private garage sale at her house when she saw our blogs and learned about our passion for vintage things. “I have boxes and boxes of real vintage clothes from all over the world,” she wrote, “and they’re taking over my room. I need to get rid of them quick, but I don’t want to sell them to just anyone.” As someone who regularly unloads stuff at garage sales, I can totally sympathize. I know how annoying it can be to deal with pushy, price-conscious garage sale goers who can’t appreciate an item’s true value. Plus there are some things that you just don’t want to pass off to just anyone, even if you have no room for it in your life anymore.

So visit Christine’s place we did, and it turned out to be the start of quite the garage sale relationship. This girl is a real clotheshorse with a job that takes her around the world. When she comes home every year, she has several boxes of exciting clothes that she needs to sell, not because she wants to make money, but because she loves shopping so much that she has absolutely no space for her the latest additions to her massive wardrobe. She’s the type who buys multiples of a trend she’s totally obsessed with. Once, she showed me ten different vintage jumpsuits from her jumpsuit phase; another time, it was vintage maxidresses.

Pink Kurve: Lingerie for Women of All Sizes

If your cup size is anything above a C or D, you probably know what a pain it can be to buy bras locally. I’m a 34B and it can be tough finding aesthetically-pleasing bras that fit well, mostly because larger cup sizes are available in smaller quantities and sell out faster. Not to mention how annoying it is to be handed a 34B bra, only to find out that it’s made for the typical Asian body and much smaller than the size I’m accustomed to.

For this reason, it’s always good to discover stores like Pink Kurve, who cater to women of various sizes with a choice selection of premium lingerie.

The SaladBox: Beauty In A Box!

Some girls like getting flowers or chocolate delivered to their door. Me, I’d rather have a SaladBox filled with beauty and makeup goodness. There’s nothing like getting a subscription box stocked with fun-sized beauty products to make it feel like Christmas every month, especially when they contain products and brands I’ve never tried before.

Subscription boxes, which are all the rage in the US and UK, are a service that allows you to sample the latest beauty products and up-and-coming brands without breaking the bank. You subscribe to the service, and then they send you a box of trial-sized cosmetics and lifestyle products that you can play with and later purchase in full-size from the website. If you want to try out new products but don’t like the idea of dipping into bacteria-ridden department store samples or spending too much on beauty experiments, then this is a fantastic compromise.
