FOTD: Shining Shimmering Gray
When I started this blog, I thought I’d never ever post a FOTD/EOTD (face/eye of the day – took me a while to figure out what it meant :P) because I’m way too inexperienced with applying makeup. But I surprised myself tonight when I started getting ready for a friend’s birthday party. For once I wasn’t in the mood to dress up, but I did feel like doing something more than just my usual foundation-blush-eyeliner face. So I messed around with my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo palette and this is what I got!
For my eyes, I used Shattered and Last Call layered over the black Oil Slick to create a shimmery gray that sort of matched my top. This was followed by Revlon Liquid Liner, In2it retractable liner, and Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara (review to come very soon).
On my face are Ellana Foundation, Nars Orgasm blush (my boyfriend got it for me for Christmas!), Ellana finishing powder, and bronzer from the Sephora sculpting disk (stolen from my mother’s bathroom). I’m wearing the Etude BB cream under all this gunk – let me wear it a couple more times before I write a review.
I swear, my face isn’t this pale in real life, and it certainly isn’t whiter than my neck! It’s all the camera flash’s doing. I need to learn how to take better photos using my LX3.
Sorry for photo-bombing you with my face, but I’m just really pleased with how this turned out. Not to mention that the very few times I ever wore eyeshadow in public, I needed the help of YouTube tutorials and practice the night before. This is the first look I created entirely by myself on the fly, which pretty much shows that I can already apply makeup without looking like Sephora exploded on my face. Hooray, I’m a big girl now! :D
love the eye look! it works well with your almond-shaped eyes.
about the white cast of your face on the photos – it’s either the BB cream, since it has SPF, and the Ellana foundation. i’ve noticed that there’s a white cast when I use flash on Ellana foundation. :/ Don’t know why though.
PS All boyfriends should give their girlfriends NARS Orgasm. Seriously.

It’s definitely my camera’s setting. Took a photo of my made up face last night sans BB cream and I was still white. :\ And yes to Nars Orgasm blush from boyfriends! I dropped by the Nars counter at Rustan’s Shang yesterday and Orgasm was sold out lol.

It’s super easy! Get an eyeshadow palette with lots of colors, watch YouTube tutorials, and practice on yourself. :)

it’s amazing how you confess to have started loving make-up just recently but come up with a very wonderful eotd! i’m really envious here! been loving make up since i was in high school but still don’t make good eotd’s! =’( envious here!

All I learned about doing makeup, I learned from beauty blogs and YouTube tutorials. It helps to experiment a lot too!

I love your lipcolor! It really looks so natural and it suits your pucker really well. :) I’m a big fan of Nars Orgasm, and I think the hue complements any skin color. I hope you can also model Tish soon! :P
