Some girls like getting flowers or chocolate delivered to their door. Me, I’d rather have a SaladBox filled with beauty and makeup goodness. There’s nothing like getting a subscription box stocked with fun-sized beauty products to make it feel like Christmas every month, especially when they contain products and brands I’ve never tried before.
Subscription boxes, which are all the rage in the US and UK, are a service that allows you to sample the latest beauty products and up-and-coming brands without breaking the bank. You subscribe to the service, and then they send you a box of trial-sized cosmetics and lifestyle products that you can play with and later purchase in full-size from the website. If you want to try out new products but don’t like the idea of dipping into bacteria-ridden department store samples or spending too much on beauty experiments, then this is a fantastic compromise.
SaladBox is the Philippine’s first subscription box service, and they’re now accepting new subscribers! For just P500 a month, you’ll receive a box filled with four or more beauty samples worth P700 and over. If you like what you get, you can buy the full sized version at the SaladBox shop. For September 2012, the SaladBox will contain goodies from three Korean brands (Skinmiso, Klair’s, Wishtrend) and two local brands (Hotshop and BC Fragrance).
Here’s a visual guide to how it works:
In addition to your monthly beauty treat, SaladBox subscribers are also privy to weekly flash sales that can’t be found in other group buying websites, such as discounts from Lay Bare Waxing Salon. Subscribers also get SaladLeaves, or reward points, from each successful referral or product review. You can use your SaladLeaves to buy products from the shop or the flash sales.
Subscriptions come on a first-come, first-served basis, so come join me in line! I’ll be getting my very own SaladBox at the end of the month and I’m really excited about it.Google+
